MuscleStang Exterior!
This page will follow the body work I plan to do on my 1986 Ford Mustang LX. I bought this car because I live in a town where almost all you can find on the car lots are rebuilt wrecks, and as far as I could tell this car has never been hit. The body was in very good shape with only surface rust visible in a few spots. My plans are to sand the whole car and primer it grey. I will bondo any dents I find, and I will probably change the doors because they have quite a bit of rust. Once the body panels are all straight and primered I will have the car painted and start looking for some wheels and tires.

The first step in rust removal is to grind away the rust. For this you can use a grinder or a drill with a rust/paint removal wheel. This can be found at Wal- Mart in automotives. Then you MUST use something to KILL the rust. For this use some Naval Jelly. This can also be purchased at Wal- Mart right beside the rust wheel. If you are unsure of what naval jelly is, it looks like this...

Look at these wheels and tires. What in Hell was Ford thinking?!
